Something happened recently that made me feel good, so I feel compelled to share. If you’ll recall, I wrote a blog a few weeks ago of my trip to Crissy Field dog beach, where I met a few really fantastic dogs. One of those dogs, Kelso, had some of the most boundless energy that I have ever witnessed; that energy was captured perfectly in one of the photographs Phil got of him running in the surf.
Can’t you hear his laughter?
A coworker of mine has a friend, Tyler, who is a Masters student in Academy of Art’s Animation program. One of his recent assignments was to come up with a creature as a prelude to a project involving animation. His vision was of a flying dog, and he somehow managed to stumble upon Kelso’s pictures. I wouldn’t have thought that Kelso’s energy or unbridled enthusiasm could have been captured more accurately than in the photographs, but I think Tyler’s interpretation comes so very close:
I would love for him to capture Lucy in a drawing some day!
